Safe Sanctuary

A Safe Sanctuary Church is one which has taken specific steps to reduce the risk of child abuse. We have developed and implemented an ongoing education plan for our church leaders on the reality of child abuse, risk factors leading to child abuse, and strategies for prevention. This includes state and federal background checks on all adults who work with children, completion of a training program, two unrelated adults present in classroom activities, windows in all classroom doors and at least a five year difference in age between our oldest youth and the leaders. Our Nursery Supervisor, who

is present each week, is also diligent with regard to cleanliness and safe toys in the Nursery and Crib Rooms. Our Crib Room and Nursery, although connected, are two separate rooms. Two rooms are utilized so newborns and infants are not disturbed by older children.

 

The safety of our children is very important to our church and we work very hard to provide a secure and enjoyable environment for them. If you have any questions concerning the Safe Sanctuary program please the Church Office.
