First Church is known throughout the community for its fine musical program. If you like to sing you are more than welcome to take part in one of our musical groups. Even if you have no experience, we welcome you and will provide you with coaching and support. Our musical groups not only take pride in the quality of their music, they have a lot of fun at the same time!
SANCTUARY CHOIR
The Sanctuary Choir is comprised of men and women of varying ages and ability. They perform weekly during the Sunday, 10:15 AM worship service from September until June. They perform a of variety of styles of music from gospel to traditional to contemporary. Each year (during the Christmas or Easter season) they perform a musical that carries the wonderful message of the love of Christ. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM. HANDBELL CHOIR
Our Hand Bell Choir is one of the finest in the area, and yet we have members of varying musical ability, demonstrating that even if you can’t carry a tune in a bucket, you can learn to play hand bells. We have several octaves of bells and a set of choir chimes as well. The Hand Bell Choir plays in the Sunday morning worship service on the average of once ever six weeks and has participated in the Huntingdon Hand Bell Choir festival the past two years. PRAISE TEAM
The Praise Team is our newest musical group, having been formed in 2005 to lead singing for our Saturday evening casual worship service held at 5:30 PM. Always looking for new talent, vocal and instrumental, the Praise Team presents new songs that are designed to move soul and spirit. The Team rehearses Wednesday evenings at 8:00 PM and at 4:00 PM on Saturdays prior to the worship service. For more information contact the church office.
